Miss Curcio
Grade 2
Hello! My name is Miss Curcio, and this is my fourth year at St. Amelia School. I am so looking forward to the 2016-2017 school year and working with my second graders.
As an alumnus of St. Stephen School, I know how important a Catholic education is to parents, teachers, and students alike. I believe that it is of the utmost for teachers to instill a life-long love of learning in students so they are successful in their academics, future careers, and life. I feel it is my job, as a teacher, to do whatever it takes to support my students to meet rigorous academic goals and have fun doing so! I hold high expectations for my students because I believe they can accomplish anything they set their minds and hearts to. My goal is to nurture well-rounded students who are intelligent, responsible, caring, and contributing members of their communities.
I truly have a passion for teaching and reading! During my spare time, I enjoy spending plenty of time with my family and friends, reading a good book, writing, watching movies, taking walks, taking photos, and traveling.
Education
I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Childhood Education with Middle School Extension at the State University of Fredonia and my Master's Degree in Literacy from Buffalo State College.
Certifications
I hold New York State Certifications in Early Childhood Education (Birth-Grade 2), Childhood Education (Grades 1-6), English Language Arts (Grades 7-12), and Literacy Specialist (Birth-Grade 12).
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me!
